Job Description:

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Thrust Reverser Actuation System Integrator (m/f) to join our Engine & Nacelle Systems team based in Toulouse, France.

As part of the Propulsion Systems & Control Laws team in Toulouse you will be responsible for specifying and co-designing, together with Airbus suppliers particularly engine and nacelle systems suppliers.

You will define and resolve the technical challenges of the propulsion system, its interactions with other aircraft systems and components under all operating conditions. You will propose design solutions and perform trade studies, while steering and challenging the contributions proposed by our suppliers.

Within aircraft pre-development teams and R&T (Research & Technology) projects, you will interact with a wide international community of stakeholders, both internally within Airbus (Chief Engineers, experts, flight test, production, customer support, etc.) and externally with industrial partners such as engine manufacturers, system and equipment suppliers, and research centers.

Your working environment :

Global capital of aeronautics and European capital for space research, Toulouse is a dynamic city in the southwest of France served by an international airport. Ideally located between the Mediterranean sea and the Atlantic ocean and close to the Pyrenees mountains, it offers plenty of options for outdoor activities!

How we care for you :

  • *Financial rewards : Attractive salary, agreements on success and profit sharing schemes, employee savings plan abounded by Airbus and employee stock purchase plan on a voluntary basis.

  • *Work / Life Balance : Extra days-off for special occasions, holiday transfer option, a Staff council offering many social, cultural and sport activities and other services.

  • *Wellbeing / Health : Complementary health insurance coverage (disability, invalidity, death). Depending on the site: health services center, concierge services, gym, carpooling application.

  • *Individual development : Great upskilling opportunities and development prospects with unlimited access to +10.000 e-learning courses to develop your employability, certifications, expert career path, accelerated development programmes, national and international mobility.

At Airbus, we support you to work, connect and collaborate more easily and flexibly. Wherever possible, we foster flexible working arrangements to stimulate innovative thinking.

Your challenges :

Develop new technologies, functions, concepts, and architectures within R&T programs and pre-development aircraft, define the associated roadmaps, and develop the corresponding ground or flight demonstrators.

The key challenges of this new position are to :

  • Be able to develop improved architectures and technologies (e.g. actuator synchronization architectures) for Thrust Reverser Actuation Systems (TRAS), generating aircraft-level benefits (e.g. weight, maintenance costs, etc.).

  • Coordinate key nacelle and TRAS suppliers, as well as internal teams (e.g. control laws, aircraft systems, thermal, safety, physical integration…), in order to mature these technologies.

  • Implement efficient and innovative methods (functional approach, MBSE, pre-sizing).

  • Develop and strengthen internal expertise to be more efficient in future developments.

Your boarding pass :

For this position, we are particularly looking for an experienced engineer in system design and integration, ideally in the field of electrical actuation systems. Experience in engine and nacelle systems integration would be an advantage.

  • Graduate engineer or equivalent in aeronautics, mechanical engineering, and systems engineering

  • Systems Engineering skills (model-based): from operational analysis to requirements identification

  • Multi-physics integration skills, particularly in system–structure interaction

  • Systems behavior modeling skills (e.g. AMESim)

  • Strong initiative, autonomy, innovative mindset, and open-mindedness

  • Strong sense of integrity and compliance with company, industry, and ethical standards

  • Languages: English at negotiation level; French, German, or Spanish are considered a plus

  • Ability to work in an international context and within an extended enterprise environment

Additional experience or knowledge in the following areas would be a plus for certain positions:

  • Propulsion systems

  • Data analytics and artificial intelligence

  • Project or team management
