About the Role
Aerovel (the Airbus Helicopters Flexrotor Program) is looking for a Propulsion Technician to join our Manufacturing Production Team based in Bingen, WA.

The Airbus Helicopters Flexrotor Program offers one of the most sophisticated small tactical unmanned aerial systems (STUAS) with vertical take-off and landing (VTOL). It can be used day or night by US and allied forces for a diverse range of intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance (ISTAR) on land and at sea.

Responsibilities
- Assemble and test production engines, fuel tanks, and ignition systems
- Assemble, test and calibrate production rotor systems and related components
- Perform propulsion systems development, fabrication, and assembly
- Troubleshoot failure modes and provide photo documentation
- Operate manual machine tools, rill, lathe, mill, dyno etc.
- Align, fit or assemble propulsion system component parts, using hand or power tools
- Maintain part inventory and order replacement inventory as needed
- Review of documentations including drawing, schematics, and Bill of materials
- Assist with manufacturing/ production / quality process improvement
- Develop work instructions, test procedures and quality documentation
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency
- 5 years of relevant experience
- Experience designing test setups related to mechanical systems
- Understanding of electro-mechanical systems, such as engine test stands, etc.
- Experience with data acquisition systems
- Fundamental understanding of two stroke engines and fuel systems
- Experience with tools and equipment related to engines
Physical Requirements
- Onsite: 100% - onsite in Bingen, Washington
- Vision: Able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings daily
- Hearing: Able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds including safety warnings or alarms daily
- Speaking: Able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications daily
- Equipment Operation: Able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment daily
- Carrying: Able to carry documents, drawings, electronic equipment up to 10lbs daily
- Lifting: Able to lift documents, drawings, electronic equipment up to 10lbs daily
- Pushing / Pulling: Able to push and pull small office furniture occasionally
- Sitting: Able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer daily
- Squatting / Kneeling: Able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving occasionally
- Standing: Able to stand for discussions in offices daily
- Travel: Able to travel independently and at short notice rarely
- Walking: Able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces daily
Personal Protective Equipment
- Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits
- Appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor
Work Authorization
Ability to work in the US without current, or future, need for visa sponsorship/work authorization is required for this opportunity.
Compensation and Benefits
Hourly range: $17.24 - $27.44/hour
Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on geographic differential. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
