Job Description:
A vacancy for a **System Design Responsible of Avionics networks (H/**F) has arisen within Airbus Helicopters in Marignane.
You will join a team of professionals in the Computers & Electronic department in charge of on-board computers, electronic equipment, video product, data buses and avionic networks.
Our newer helicopters integrate more and more systems and functions : flight control, vehicle management, tactical missions, situation awareness, health monitoring, connectivity with the ground... Such systems require complex communication means to exchange data, with different technologies in use, such as AFDX, ETHERNET, CAN, MIL-STD-1553. Also, the sustained need for increased data rates is leading us to investigate new technologies. These trends added to challenging integration constraints on-board the helicopter is making the design of these data networks very challenging : it must fulfill the environmental, safety and certification constraints.
In this context, your mission will consist of the development of avionics networks for the Airbus Helicopters fleet. You will be involved in all phases of the helicopter development cycle.

Your challenges:
Your main responsibilities will include:

Specify, design, validate, verify and certify network systems with respect to civilian regulations or military qualifications;
-
Build and maintain networks strategy and roadmap;
-
Build the relevant projects to implement the networks roadmaps and lead them;
-
Propose and develop innovative networks solutions and tools with respect to safety and certification constraints;
-
Ensure technical dialogue with Airbus Helicopters different entities regarding networks and data buses and provide necessary support;
-
Collect and discuss the operational needs with Airbus Helicopters system designers (for example cockpit, mission, vehicle, etc.);
-
Optimize global network architectures considering different technologies, manufacturing constraints, support and services requirements, customer added value, weight and cost;

Write specifications and guidelines for technologies usage within Airbus Helicopters.
This position bridges all sectors. Job holder is in relation with many stakeholders and has a global vision of the helicopter.
This role will involve some travels for business (once a month) in Europe and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.
Your profile:

Engineering degree in telecommunication and networks, embedded systems, or electronics

Work experience in aeronautical systems development

Deep Knowledge in Ethernet based networks
-
Knowledge of CAN and Wi-Fi based networks

Notions of Mil-Std-1553 protocol & GSM communications

System Engineering
-
Curious, autonomous and team-oriented

Good communication
-
Language Skills: advanced level of English, negotiation level of French
