Department Leader, Training

Job Summary:
The Department Leader, Training, will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of all training programs within Airbus Aerostructures S.R.L. This role ensures our workforce possesses the necessary skills and knowledge to meet operational demands, safety standards, and strategic objectives in the aerospace manufacturing sector.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of 11 training specialists and instructors, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Develop and implement comprehensive training strategies and annual plans aligned with company goals, regulatory requirements, and technological advancements in aerospace manufacturing.
- Oversee the design, development, and delivery of a wide range of training programs, including technical skills, safety protocols, quality standards, leadership development, and compliance training.
- Conduct needs assessments to identify skill gaps and training requirements across various departments and levels within Airbus Aerostructures S.R.L.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for training effectiveness, evaluating program impact on employee performance, productivity, and safety.
- Manage the training department's budget, resources, and vendor relationships, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality training solutions.
- Collaborate closely with production, engineering, quality, and HR departments to ensure training programs are relevant, up-to-date, and integrated with operational processes.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes in aerospace manufacturing and adult learning methodologies.
- Ensure all training activities comply with internal policies, EASA regulations, and other relevant industry standards.
- Prepare and present regular reports on training activities, outcomes, and recommendations to senior management.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Engineering, Aerospace Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in training and development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role, preferably within the aerospace, automotive, or a highly regulated manufacturing industry.
- Proven experience in designing, developing, and implementing large-scale training programs, including technical and soft skills training is a plus.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and various training delivery methods (e.g., e-learning, blended learning, classroom instruction, on-the-job training).
- Familiarity with aerospace industry regulations, quality standards (e.g., AS/EN 9100), and safety protocols is a plus.
- Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, projects, and cross-functional teams effectively.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess training needs and evaluate program effectiveness.
- Fluent in English.
