In order to support Advanced Studies team, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for an internship student (d/f/m): Concurrent Engineering & MBSE for Space Advanced Systems Studies

Topic:

This internship focuses on performing technical and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) modelling during the early phases of a space projects related to future Space Cloud Computing mission. The selected candidate will utilize industry-standard tools (such as IDM-CIC and Capella, Matlab, Excel, etc.) along with related toolboxes, to support system analyses and trade-off studies.

Your Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive trade-off analyses to support system design decisions.
  • Generate essential reference files, including budget estimates and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with project engineers to refine system architectures and ensure alignment with mission objectives.
  • Propose suitable practices for the usage of the tools in order to improve efficiency.
  • Create material to facilitate new users in speeding up the learning process with the tools.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Full-time student (d/f/m) enrolled in Aerospace Engineering or a similar Engineering/Physics field of study.
  • Willingness to learn to work with new tools and explore diverse engineering domains/topics (e.g., system design, mission design, thermal, mechanical, MBSE, etc.).
  • Good knowledge of engineering tools such as MATLAB, Scilab, Python, and/or other software.
  • Structured approach to work.
  • You are a good team player, have excellent communication skills, and are able to work independently.
  • Solid capabilities and interest in documenting work.
  • Fluent English and/or German skills.
