Job Description
The Claims System Lead Developer will be responsible for managing the development team and overseeing the development of software applications and systems. The Lead Developer will be expected to collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that the development team is meeting deadlines and requirements and will be responsible for designing and implementing new solutions.
Fully involved in Claims Systems Transformation program, the Claims System Lead Developer will also be responsible for modernizing Claims systems by delivering future-proved solution based on modernized architecture design according to business initiatives and requirements.

- End-to-end responsibility of claims IT systems modernization to support business initiatives with future-proved solution design
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for the successful delivery of Claims domain system modernization in support of AIG’s major strategic initiatives. This includes collaboration with other key domains (Billing/PAS/Front-End/etc.)
- Direct solutioning & delivery of Claims systems transformation program in Japan
- Help with existing system rationalization and decommission plan as part of the modernization

Required Skills and Experiences
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor of Science Degree – Computer Science or related field
Specific Qualifications
- Japanese language: N3 & above. English business fluency
Total Experience
Experience:
-
10+ years IT delivery experience
-
Comprehensive P&C insurance knowledge in Claims domain
-
Consulting or project transformation experience at an expert level
-
Tier 1 insurance carrier transformation experience, preferred
Technical Skills:
- Modern IT architecture, development methodology and automation skills
- Familiar with Open API framework
- Have experience working in relational DB such as Oracle, Sybase, etc.
- Exposure to Mainframe (AS/400) and low-code modernized workflow engine system (Service Now, etc.) is a plus
- Leadership:
- Exhibits confidence in self and others; inspires and motivates others to perform well. Excellent team building and coaching skills. Can successfully organize and direct large teams of people. Energetic leader with a positive attitude and a go-getter drive.
- Collaboration:
-Strong interpersonal skills and ability for productive collaboration across varying departments. Comfortable building relationships, internally and externally - Ability to operate and have credibility with senior business leaders
