This position supports the Financial Statement Analytics Leader. This role is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, assisting in process optimization and automation, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. The Analytics Business Analyst will work closely with the COE Lead, business teams, finance teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to enhance financial operations and reporting quality. Additionally, this position will lead and support a team within their domains and verticals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Align and partner with AIG businesses, regions and functions to accurately integrate commercial insights to financial statements.

  • Lead and support a team to deliver best in class analytics and reporting, providing guidance and fostering professional development

  • Build relationships and leverage core business knowledge and functional expertise to bring functional, regional and product nuances to reporting

  • Support and implement process and systems reengineering initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting

  • Ensure process and role clarity towards executing the COE’s vision and drive cadenced operating rhythms

  • Conduct market analysis and provide insights into financial trends and industry drivers

  • Identifying opportunities and contributing to strengthening the control environment and implementing process improvements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required

  • Qualified CPA preferred

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience, particularly in a controllership or financial reporting role at a public company; insurance sector experience a plus

  • Strong project management and change management capabilities, with a clear desire to be part of developing solutions and driving matters to completion.

  • Strong attention to detail, where accuracy and precision are critical to success, yet possessing an ability to step back and understand the broader objectives around analysis of results

  • Systems-technical acumen, with a desire and aptitude to learn and master new financial accounting and reporting systems

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation development and delivery, with an ability to effectively work across teams

  • Comfortable operating in a dynamic, transformational environment, where change is embraced and viewed as an opportunity for one’s own professional development and to drive process improvement for the team and broader organization

For positions based in New York, the base salary range is $87,000-$109,000. For positions based in New Jersey, the base salary range is $88,000-$110,000. In addition, the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
