Data Analyst, Merchant Operations
Adyen is looking for a data analyst with strong business analyst skills to join our Operations Analytics team in Amsterdam to focus on our Merchant Operations processes. Operations Analytics helps to embed analytics into the decision-making processes for Operations, and this role will focus specifically on the Merchant Operations teams within the Operations function.
Merchant Operations is a large department with various teams such as onboarding operations, merchant risk and AML. You will be working together with the Merchant Operations leadership team to help them to make data-driven decisions and drive scalable services. The ideal candidate has a strong analytical mindset together with excellent project management skills.
Whether you come from the payments space or not, we need you to be an independent and enthusiastic thinker who can facilitate our growth by scaling internal projects and focus on continuous optimization and automation.
What you’ll do

Gain an in-depth understanding of business processes, to effectively focus your analysis efforts, and solve key business problems

Storytelling: turn your findings into effective communication and concise and actionable advice by connecting the data to a story, tailoring your presentation style to the audience

Work closely with leadership from the Merchant Operations department as a consultant to support business decisions by helping define key performance indicators, or focus for analysis

Understand business requirements to translate into requests for data engineering

Work closely with tooling focal points to help design business processes in order to enable extraction of key insights for leadership
Who you are

You have at least 4 years of relevant working experience

You have the ability to extract meaningful insights from large datasets and turn them into clear recommendations to the stakeholders

You are proficient in writing queries in SQL; experience with BI tools

You have an affinity for AML, KYC or Risk, as well as operational processes, and you're interested in learning more about it

You have a proven track record in project management skills, you know how to drive business projects in a structured manner and you are not afraid to ‘build as you go’

You love to work in an international environment, and to build strong relationships with global and multicultural teams

You can communicate fluently in English, both written and spoken
