Staff Engineer

• Developer Experience

We're looking for an expert with deep knowledge in developer experience to impact and improve the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC) for our engineering teams. The initial focus will be on leading cross-team projects to enhance our internal developer platform, streamline our CI/CD pipelines, and improve our observability and testing frameworks.

What you'll do

You'll be asked to both build new as-a-service offerings for our developers and improve the existing ones. This role is perfect for you if you're passionate about one or all of the following:

• Design, build, and optimize the internal developer platform to ensure a seamless and efficient experience for our software engineers.

• Focus on improving the CI/CD systems, testing frameworks, and observability tools internally.

• Evolve these internal tools and platforms, with the intention of contributing to open-source projects where applicable.

• Educate and grow Adyen's internal knowledge in developer experience best practices, mentoring and coaching other engineers.

• Work closely with development teams to understand their needs and pain points, and advocate for improvements to the development process.

• Automate infrastructure and development workflows to reduce toil and improve engineering productivity.

What you'll do

Must have experience in:

• Scaling and tuning CI/CD pipelines and implementing best practices.

• Building and maintaining internal developer platforms or similar self-service platforms.

• One or more of the following programming languages: Go, Python, or Java.

• Containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.

• Team player with strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with diverse stakeholders (developers, SREs, security engineers, etc.).

• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in large-scale, production environments.

Nice-to-have:

• Building and maintaining developer portals (e.g., Backstage).

• Experience with observability platforms (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).

• Knowledge of security best practices in the SDLC.
