Issuing Card Scheme Compliance Officer
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Issuing Card Compliance Officer to join our fast-paced Compliance team in Amsterdam. This role is crucial for supporting our rapidly expanding EU and UK Issuing business.
The ideal candidate will have established expertise with Card Networks and the card issuance industry, alongside strong analytical skills. You will serve as a key business partner, connecting with and providing pragmatic compliance advice to a diverse range of teams—including Risk, Legal, Product, Finance, and Sales—to foster sustainable business growth.
What you’ll do

Proactively identify card issuance compliance obligations based on Card Scheme Rules.

Scope Card Scheme compliance requirements for new card issuance programs in the UK and EU markets.

Translate identified scheme issuer obligations into relevant Policies and Procedures.

Represent scheme compliance on a variety of work streams and products to establish strategies that align with global objectives and ensure controlled and compliant growth.

Strengthen knowledge and education management across the global business.

Participate in Product risk assessments and advise other compliance verticals.

Handle escalations from internal and external stakeholders.

Consider opportunities and risks from a variety of angles to achieve compliant card issuance solutions that align with commercial and strategic objectives.

Advise internal stakeholders and liaise with external stakeholders as well as relevant auditors.
Who you are
-
You have at least 5 years’ experience in card issuance industry and ideally second line compliance functions.

Your knowledge of the card issuance industry will be well established; with relevant experience dealing with Card Networks and related issuer obligations.

You are an analytical thinker who can both draft, and monitor on the implementation of, relevant Policies and Procedures and translate requirements into operational processes.

You have solid interpersonal skills, specifically you will be able to liaise and connect with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and customers from varying disciplines and cultures.

You feel comfortable addressing senior management and able to influence across all levels of the organization.

You have good sense of business and technical acumen.

Your strong sense of initiative and self-motivation will add value to a fast-growing business.
