Position Summary:

The Director of Collections leads Adtran’s global B2B collections strategy, ensuring timely receivables management, strong customer relationships, and optimized cash flow. This role blends operational excellence with strategic oversight, driving process improvements, compliance, and cross-functional collaboration to safeguard liquidity and support growth. As a senior leader, the Director sets the tone for professionalism, accountability, and customer-centric resolution in all collection activities.

🔍 Key Responsibilities

Collections Strategy & Execution:

  • Develop and implement global B2B collections policies, procedures, and performance metrics.

  • Oversee day-to-day collections operations, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding receivables.
    Partner with sales, finance, and legal teams to balance customer relationships with risk mitigation.

  • Establish escalation protocols for high-risk accounts and coordinate resolution strategies.

Leadership & Team Development:

  • Lead and mentor a team of collections professionals, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Build training programs to enhance negotiation, communication, and compliance skills.

  • Promote a culture of service, integrity, and results across the collections function.

Risk Management & Compliance:

  • Monitor credit exposure and proactively identify collection risks.

  • Ensure compliance with global regulations, contractual obligations, and internal controls.

  • Collaborate with treasury and finance teams to align collections with cash forecasting and liquidity planning.

Process Optimization & Reporting:

  • Drive automation and system enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy.

  • Develop dashboards and KPIs to track performance, aging trends, and recovery rates.

  • Present regular updates to executive leadership, highlighting risks, opportunities, and strategic recommendations.

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in B2B collections, credit management, or receivables.

  • Proven leadership in managing global teams and complex portfolios.

  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with a customer-centric mindset.

  • Expertise in ERP systems, collections tools, and reporting platforms.

  • Excellent communication skills—able to translate data into actionable insights for executives.

  • Values-driven leader with a balance of firmness, empathy, and strategic foresight.
