JOB DESCRIPTION – ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, DATA PRIVACY Key Responsibilities As an Associate Director, Data Privacy, you are responsible to maintain and enhance Accenture’s global Data Privacy Program, reporting to and in close cooperation with our Senior Director, Data Privacy, Data&AI Compliance. The program will ensure Accenture meets contractual obligations, legal and regulatory requirements as well as voluntary commitments made in the field of data privacy, with a strong focus on bringing Accenture’s values and culture to life. This senior role is at the core of our strategy and operations of the global program and oversees important processes which aim to ensure Accenture’s compliance with laws and regulations around the globe, but equally ensures our program consistently reflects the ethical aspects of data privacy and ensures the protection of individuals and their data even where local legal requirements might not be strong and mature. The Associate Director will work closely with senior data privacy and other compliance roles, our Global Services Legal team, Responsible AI team and others. It is a full-time role that will be filled by an experienced senior professional able to demonstrate strong expertise and interest in the areas of digital, technology, governance and compliance. Ideally, the successful candidate will have led a global privacy program of a smaller organization, or will have had broad regional responsibilities for the program of a large organization. The Associate Director, Data & AI Compliance is expected to demonstrate leadership behaviors, which include adhering to Accenture’s Core Values. The successful candidate is also expected to promote and practice all aspects of Accenture’s leadership DNA. Your (and your team’s) key responsibilities will be to manage all typical elements of a global privacy program, including • Overseeing the scope of the program and ensuring it operates as designed, and is kept up to date and enhanced as needed in light of current and emerging risks; • Recruit, integrate and lead a global and diverse team of dedicated experts; • Identify relevant current and future legal, regulatory and policy requirements as well as voluntary commitments and industry best practices, and translate them into Accenture policy, standards and controls; • Develop tools and concepts for, and to conduct, reviews and assessments, with a focus on high-risk ones, to ensure ongoing compliance; • Closely work with risk, information security and other teams to build and run the program; • Partner and interact with key business stakeholders and senior individuals across Accenture, to ensure compliance issues are considered at the outset of new services, offerings, projects, products and initiatives; • Keep abreast of technology trends and developments and their impact, and develop guidance, training and thought leadership for internal audiences; • Build and maintain strong and trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, in particular with legal and business teams, and interaction with clients, as needed; • Effectively work with a team of legal professionals and business teams in remote locations, providing advice and guidance in an engaged, business focused and pragmatic manner. Knowledge, Skills and Experience • Demonstrated command of data privacy, and related policy, laws and regulations; • Long term accountability for compliance program at multinational organization, ideally in the technology or digital space; • Proven ability to develop vision, operationalize and implement strategy; • Demonstrated ability to identify, understand and assess trends and developments, and to explain issues in a practical, results-focused manner; • Ability to build a network of professional relationships with experts and regulators, and to represent Accenture externally as needed; • Ability to synthesize complex legal analysis into clear and consistent recommendations; • Ability to prioritize and make decisions, and possess a high level of common sense, including the ability to see around the corner and spot risks before they materialize; • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface, and develop relationships, with all levels of management and staff, and work cross-culturally. Education and Qualifications Education:

  • JD or equivalent law degree (based on geography);

  • Relevant certifications (such as in data privacy, data governance, audit, Information Security) considered a plus.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 10-12 years of experience in a (ideally global) compliance and ethics/governance function, preferably in a major law firm and/or multinational corporation; • Deep knowledge of data privacy, including governance, strategies and frameworks; • Minimum 5 years team leadership experience; • Knowledge of and experience in monitoring legal and regulatory trends and developments and translating those into actionable requirements; • Strong project management and organizational skills would be considered a plus.
