Project Role Description: Creates production and non-production cloud environments using the proper software tools such as a platform for a project or product. Deploys the automation pipeline and automates environment creation and configuration.

Summary:

As a Lead Azure Data Engineering professional, you will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and operating scalable data platforms on Microsoft Azure, with a strong focus on Databricks-based lakehouse solutions. Your day-to-day activities will include overseeing the development and optimization of data pipelines, implementing CI/CD and infrastructure automation, and ensuring cost-effective and secure data operations. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, architects, and product owners to translate data requirements into robust technical solutions while driving engineering excellence, reliability, and efficiency across production and non-production environments.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Ensure best practices in data delivery, development, deployment, and operations on Azure Data platforms.
Oversee the design, development, maintenance, and optimization of batch and streaming data pipelines.
Drive integration with the Azure ecosystem, including Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Event Hubs, Key Vault, and other Azure data services.
Implement and govern CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation using Git, Azure DevOps, and Terraform.
Monitor data workloads, optimize Databricks clusters, and improve resource utilization to balance performance and cost in collaboration with multiple teams.
Partner with business stakeholders, architects, and product owners to translate business requirements into scalable and secure technical solutions.
Ensure adherence to best practices in data security, compliance, governance, and operational excellence.
Provide technical (servant) leadership, mentoring team members to foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
Lead teams operating modern data engineering and analytics solutions on Databricks within the Azure Cloud environment.

Professional & Technical Skills:

Must Have Skills:

Strong proficiency in Data Engineering and Spark-based data processing.

Good to Have Skills:

Experience with Microsoft Azure Data Services (Azure Databricks, ADF, Event Hubs, Azure Storage).
Strong understanding of data pipeline architecture, ETL/ELT processes, and lakehouse design patterns.
Experience with cloud automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
Familiarity with data storage solutions, data warehousing concepts, and performance optimization techniques.

Additional Information:

Minimum 7.5 years of experience in Data Engineering is required.
This position is based at the Hyderabad office.
A minimum of 15 years of full-time education is mandatory.
