Role: Custom Software Engineering Assoc Mgr
Key Responsibilities:
-
Develop custom software solutions across multiple system components or applications.
-
Technical Lead with Duck Creek experience to design and develop new system components or enhancements.
-
Provide software delivery services with ASP.NET, JavaScript, and the full range of services including API, integration, and data using Duck Creek as the primary application.
-
Partner with Duck Creek Architecture to shape, implement, and maintain the overall architecture.
-
Provide application enhancement, upgrade, and support services for Duck Creek applications.
-
Technical Lead with leadership and expertise across the analysis, design, development, maintenance and ongoing support of the duck creek insurance application.
-
Provide technical oversight, mentoring and guidance to other members of the team.
-
Provide pro-active advice and guidance to clients and partners, around solutions, upgrades, security improvements, and improved ways of achieving client goals.
-
Contribute at a senior technical level to the delivery of client solutions, delivering high quality code.
-
Lead constructive and actionable peer review**.**

Provide accurate estimates for the delivery of complex solutions.
-
Work with Business Analysts and Product Owners to understand and elaborate business requirements.
-
Deliver appropriate levels of high-quality documentation, including designs, specifications, and operational guides.

Lead the technical delivery and development of integrations between duck creek and other enterprise systems.
-
Maintain a high level of technical competency and awareness of technologies, products and best practices in software development, delivery, and maintenance.

Provide subject matter expertise in one of more products or services.

Pro-actively identify, propose, and implement improvements to client solutions.

Provide technical resolution and expert advice for high priority support incidents. This includes being on-call as part of an after-hours roster of engineers.

Provide mentoring and guidance to other team members.

Achieve and maintain accreditation or certification in relevant products and technologies.

Ensure that the chosen software development lifecycle methodology and operational process is followed.

Ensure that project milestones and commercial goals are achieved by both, Organization and the client.
Skills and Qualifications:
-
Ideally (but not limited to) a Computer Science Degree or equivalent.

Broad and diversified experience in the development and integration of software solutions over a period of at least 9 years
-
Senior level development skills and experience with ASP.NET and associated technologies, JavaScript and associated frameworks, duck creek experience and conceptual understanding applicable to multiple providers. Experience with on premises and DCOD enterprise platforms of duck creek.

A deep understanding of modern software delivery methods including DevOps, Git delivery pipelines, automated testing, and Agile. A strong desire to drive improvements in development practices in house and with clients.

Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Confident and appropriate communication with all levels with internal staff and clients from junior to senior level. Presentation skills an advantage. Ability to be persuasive and justify opinions and recommendations.

Pro-actively recognizes and helps manage stress in self and others. Acts and escalates appropriately to contribute to staff well-being.

Can formally coach or train colleagues to learn new skills, techniques, and ways of delivering.
