General Job Description: An Ansible Administrator is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automation solutions using Ansible to streamline IT operations and infrastructure management. This role typically involves a strong focus on system administration and a deep understanding of automation principles.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Ansible Automation:

• Develop, implement, and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, and modules for automated provisioning, configuration management, application deployment, and system updates.

• Manage and troubleshoot Ansible automation platforms, including setup, maintenance, upgrades, and support.

• Monitor automation jobs, diagnose failures, perform root cause analysis, and provide timely solutions.

• System Administration:
  Manage and automate tasks across various operating systems, primarily Linux/Unix environments (e.g., Red Hat, ).
  Perform system patching, updates, and vulnerability remediation using Ansible.
  Administer and maintain system services and configurations.

Collaboration and Integration:

Collaborate with DevOps, infrastructure, and development teams to integrate Ansible automation with CI/CD pipelines and other IT tools.
Provide expertise and support to other teams in adopting and utilizing Ansible for their automation needs.

Documentation and Best Practices:

Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for Ansible playbooks, roles, and automation processes.
Adhere to and promote best practices for Ansible development and automation.

Professional & Technical Skills:

• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Ansible, including playbooks, roles, modules, variables, conditions, and loops.
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix/Windows system administration.
• Experience with scripting languages like Bash or Python.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub).
• Understanding of networking concepts and infrastructure components.

Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills:

Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve automation-related issues.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Communication and Collaboration:

Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Additional Information:

• Relevant experience in system administration and automation, with a focus on Ansible.
• Certifications such as Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation (EX407) are often preferred.
