  • What would you do? The Prompt Engineer at Career Level 9 (CL9) is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing prompts for advanced artificial intelligence (AI) and natural language processing (NLP) systems. This role requires deep expertise in language modeling, prompt creation, and iterative testing to maximize the performance and accuracy of AI-driven applications. The Prompt Engineer collaborates with data scientists, software engineers, and product teams to deliver innovative solutions that drive business value.

  • Lead complex projects with minimal supervision and deliver high-impact results.

  • Demonstrate thought leadership and contribute to the strategic direction of AI initiatives.

  • Mentor junior engineers and promote a culture of innovation and continuous learning.

  • Engage with external partners, communities, or conferences to represent the organization’s AI capabilities.

  • The Prompt Engineer (CL9) typically works in a hybrid or remote setting, collaborating with global teams. Occasional travel may be required for conferences, workshops, or client engagements.What are we looking for? • 5+ years of experience in AI, NLP, or software engineering, with a focus on prompt engineering.

  • Strong understanding of large language models (e.g., GPT, LLaMA, PaLM) and generative AI technologies.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and adapt to emerging technologies and methodologies.

  • Experience with prompt evaluation, reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF), or AI alignment.

  • Familiarity with LLM Models (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)

  • Background in computational linguistics or human-computer interaction.

  • Contributions to open-source AI/NLP projects or published research in the field. Roles and Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and refine prompts for AI/NLP models to improve their understanding, relevance, and reliability.

  • Analyze model outputs and systematically iterate on prompt engineering techniques to enhance results.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate prompt engineering solutions into products and workflows.

  • Conduct A/B testing and performance analysis of prompts to identify areas for improvement.

  • Document best practices, methodologies, and prompt engineering frameworks for internal use.

  • Stay current with advancements in large language models (LLMs), generative AI, and NLP research.

  • Educate and mentor junior team members on prompt engineering strategies and tools.

  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical prompt specifications.
