We are seeking an experienced Senior Java + AWS Technical Lead / Technical Designer to lead the design and implementation of cloud-native, microservices-based, and event-driven systems. The ideal candidate will bring 15+ years of Java development experience combined with 5+ years of hands-on AWS experience, and a proven track record in AWS cloud modernization initiatives. This role requires strong full stack Java expertise, deep technical design skills, and the ability to guide teams through complex architectural and implementation challenges.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Own end-to-end technical design and implementation for Java-based enterprise applications.
Lead AWS cloud modernization programs, transforming legacy monolithic systems into microservices and event-driven architectures.
Design, develop, and review Java full stack solutions, ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability. Define microservices architecture, service boundaries, API contracts, and integration patterns.
Design and implement event-based solutions using Kafka.
Guide teams on effective use of AWS native services and cloud best practices.
Architect and optimize data access layers, caching strategies using Redis, and database integrations. Work closely with architects, DevOps, and product teams to align technical designs with business objectives.
Perform code reviews, design reviews, and mentor senior and junior developers.
Ensure adherence to engineering standards, performance benchmarks, and security guidelines.
Act as a key technical stakeholder in solution discussions, estimations, and delivery planning.
Professional & Technical Skills:
Primary Skills:
15+ years of hands-on Java development experience.
Strong expertise in Java Full Stack development (backend services and front-end integration).
Extensive experience with Spring, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and modern Java frameworks.
Proven leadership in designing enterprise-scale Java applications.
Cloud & Microservices Minimum 5 years of hands-on AWS experience.
Strong experience in AWS-based cloud modernization projects.
Deep understanding of microservices architecture, service decomposition, and inter-service communication.
Hands-on experience with AWS native services, such as: EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB
Lambda, API Gateway SNS, SQS, MSK (Kafka on AWS)
Event-Driven & Integration:
Strong experience implementing event-driven architectures using Kafka.
Knowledge of asynchronous messaging, event schemas, and stream processing concepts.
Data & Caching:
Strong expertise in Oracle Database.
Experience with other relational and/or NoSQL databases.
Hands-on experience with Redis Cache for performance optimization and scalability.
Good to Have:
Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with cloud security best practices (IAM, VPC, encryption).
Prior experience in high-throughput, distributed systems.
Additional Information:
AWS certifications (Solutions Architect / Developer) are a plus.
