Summary:

The Senior Engineer is the subject matter expert for the Zscaler client stack. This role bridges the gap between network security and endpoint management, ensuring that the Zscaler Client Connector (ZCC) is seamlessly deployed and optimized across the global estate.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• ZCC Management: Own the Zscaler Client Connector lifecycle, including app profiles, forwarding profiles (Tunnel 1.0 vs 2.0), and version upgrades across Windows, macOS, and mobile.
• Deep Diagnostics (ZDX): Configure custom ZDX probes for critical business applications (e.g., SAP, Salesforce, Teams). Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for regional outages or performance degradation.
• Advanced Security: Implement and fine-tune Data Loss Prevention (DLP) dictionaries, Advanced Threat Protection (ATP), and Cloud Sandbox settings.
• Policy Optimization: Periodically audit existing policies to remove redundancies and improve the Best Practice score within the Zscaler portal.
• Integration: Work with the desktop engineering team (Intune/SCCM) to ensure ZCC health and silent deployment.

Professional & Technical Skills:

• Endpoint: Deep knowledge of Windows/macOS networking stacks and how ZCC interacts with local firewalls and VPNs.
• Automation: Basic scripting (Python or PowerShell) to interact with Zscaler APIs for bulk reporting.
• Certificates: Knowledge of PKI, Root CAs, and intermediate certificates for SSL inspection.

Additional Information:

A 15 years full time education is required.

• 4–6 years of IT experience with a focus on Cloud Security.
• Mandatory: Zscaler Certified Cloud Professional (ZCCP-IA & ZCCP-PA).
