Summary:

The Active Directory (AD) / Directory Services Engineer is responsible for designing, managing, securing, and maintaining the enterprise-wide Active Directory infrastructure. This role ensures the reliability, integrity, and availability of AD forests, domains, domain controllers, schema, trusts, OU structures, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs). The engineer also handles directory synchronization, identity-related issue resolution, and policy compliance across the environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:

-Manage and maintain AD forests, domains, and domain controllers including creation, configuration, promotion, demotion, and lifecycle operations.
-Oversee trust relationships, replication topology, and domain integrity to ensure secure and seamless inter-domain communication.
-Monitor and secure domain root and domain controller OUs to prevent unauthorized changes.
-Administer and maintain OU structures with proper delegation, hierarchy standardization, and security controls.
-Create, delete, and manage AD objects such as users, groups, servers, workstations, and printers within the OU hierarchy.
-Publish resource objects in AD where applicable.
-Ensure overall integrity and security of managed OU hierarchies.
-Create, manage, test, troubleshoot, and maintain Group Policy Objects (Pre-Prod, Staging, and Production).
-Manage GPO links, security filtering, and configuration baselines across the environment.
-Monitor policy compliance and ensure GPO consistency and security.
-Monitor domain reliability, security posture, replication health, and directory service performance.
-Track and troubleshoot AD schema issues, directory service failures, and unauthorized changes.
-Support and resolve issues related to user group sync, AD sync, and Azure AD Connect synchronization.
-Monitor directory synchronization jobs and resolve failures proactively.
-Ensure AD environment complies with organizational security standards and regulatory requirements.
-Maintain role-based access controls, permissions, delegation rights, and identity governance.
-Participate in monthly analysis of incidents and trends, proposing improvements to reduce recurring issues.
-Execute approved technical changes, enhancements, and defect fixes within the AD environment.
-Prepare and implement changes in accordance with change control procedures (CAB, testing, rollback readiness).
-Ensure accurate documentation of configurations, changes, and operational procedures

Professional & Technical Skills:

-Minimum 4 Years experience in AD, and overall 6 years required.
-Strong understanding of Active Directory architecture, forests, domains, trusts, and replication.
-Expertise in GPO creation, design, troubleshooting, and policy enforcement.
-Strong understanding of identity and access management principles.
-Experience with security incident response and management.
-Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001 or NIST.
-Knowledge of network security protocols and best practices.

  • The candidate should have minimum 3 years of experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM) Operations.
  • This position is based at our Bengaluru office.
