Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Netezza Database Administrator (DBA) – SME to support and manage mission-critical, high-availability Netezza environments. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on expertise in Netezza (including Hammerhead / CP4D), strong performance tuning skills, and proven experience supporting 24x7 production systems. This role requires close collaboration with infrastructure, application, and business teams while ensuring data security, compliance, and operational excellence.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provided 24x7 production support for high-availability Netezza environments with on-call and weekend rotation.
  • Performed Netezza administration including installation, upgrades, patching, migrations, and decommissioning.
  • Acted as SME for Netezza and Hammerhead (CP4D) platforms supporting enterprise data workloads.
  • Managed database maintenance activities including statistics, grooming, capacity planning, and storage optimization.
  • Designed, implemented, and tested backup and recovery strategies meeting RTO/RPO objectives.
  • Monitored and analyzed system and database logs to proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Performed advanced performance tuning, query optimization, and workload management (WLM).
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of Netezza architecture, indexes, and statistics.
  • Implemented security controls for PHI/PII data in compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.
  • Created and managed database roles, users, and permissions following least-privilege principles.
  • Supported replication, log shipping, and disaster recovery configurations and testing.
  • Conducted vulnerability assessments and supported security audits and remediation efforts.
  • Automated monitoring and maintenance tasks using Crontab, BASH, and PowerShell scripts.
  • Collaborated with application, infrastructure, and support teams to resolve performance and availability issues.
  • Provided L2/L3 escalation support.
  • Documented technical procedures, SOPs, runbooks, and management process flows.
  • Communicated effectively with business stakeholders and IT teams to deliver stable database services.

  • Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in IBM Netezza.
  • Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
  • Experience with database management and optimization techniques.
  • Familiarity with data integration and ETL processes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Additional Information:

  • The candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience in IBM Netezza.
  • This position is based at our Bengaluru office.
  • A 15 years full time education is required.
