Overview:

The Release Manager is a critical leader within the Digital INT program, responsible for orchestrating end-to-end release planning, coordination, and execution across multiple Agile teams. This role blends Agile Release Train facilitation with hands-on release management, ensuring that software deliveries are timely, high-quality, compliant, and aligned with program strategy. The Release Manager acts as a central point of communication, drives continuous improvement, mitigates risks, and ensures alignment between strategy and execution across complex cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Agile Release Train Facilitation:

Lead and facilitate key Agile ceremonies and Release Train events to ensure strong communication, transparency, and alignment across teams.
Collaborate closely with Product/Solution Management, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and other stakeholders to maintain alignment between strategy, priorities, and delivery.
Mentor and guide team members in Agile and SAFe practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and empowerment.

Release Planning & Governance:

Develop, maintain, and publish the program-wide release calendar, coordinating schedules and dependencies across multiple Agile teams.
Facilitate release planning meetings, ensuring risks, impacts, and interdependencies are clearly identified and addressed.
Define, communicate, and enforce release readiness criteria, ensuring all pre-release activities meet compliance and quality expectations.
Ensure adherence to governance and regulatory frameworks (e.g., GxP, SOX, internal policies), including documentation, approvals, and audit readiness.

Release Coordination & Execution:

Plan, coordinate, and drive deployment activities in partnership with DevOps, QA, Operations, and development teams.
Monitor release progress in real time, identify impediments, and proactively implement mitigation strategies.
Manage release branches and version control alignment, ensuring proper branching strategies are followed.
Ensure accurate, timely communication regarding release scope, status, changes, risks, and outages.
Oversee the creation of release notes, deployment plans, verification steps, and post-deployment validation.

Risk Management & Continuous Improvement:

Identify, track, and escalate risks and issues across the release cycle, ensuring timely resolution and clear visibility.
Facilitate post-release reviews and retrospectives to capture lessons learned and drive iterative improvements.
Track and report key release metrics such as lead time, deployment frequency, release success rate, and defect trends.
Champion process improvements and best practices to increase release reliability, predictability, and efficiency.

Skills & Experience:

Advanced proficiency in Release Management and coordination of complex, multi-team delivery environments.
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and frameworks intermediate proficiency in SAFe and Agile Release Planning recommended.
Proven experience facilitating cross-team collaboration, removing impediments, and making data-driven decisions.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
