Summary:

  • The Security Engineer needs to have advanced expertise in enterprise firewalls and load balancers, focusing on Fortinet, Palo Alto Networks, and F5 BIG-IP platforms. This role requires deep technical knowledge, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to support complex security environments.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provide L3-level support and escalation for complex issues involving firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto) and load balancers (F5).
  • Responsible for managing action plans and future requests, including automation initiatives.
  • Maintain advanced firewall policies, NAT, VPNs, threat protection, and segmentation strategies.
  • Administer and fine-tune F5 BIG-IP or Palo Alto Networks security appliances.
  • Analyze traffic logs and security alerts using basic Splunk dashboards and searches to support troubleshooting and reporting.
  • Participate in change control, risk assessment, and compliance-related activities.
  • Document complex configurations, technical procedures, and solutions contribute to KB and SOPs.
  • Lead technical discussions with relevant stakeholders support audits and posture assessments.
  • Must have a complete knowledge of L'Or al Network topology to assist L2 Firewall and Qualification team for complex requests
  • Provide guidance and technical leadership to L1.5/L2 support teams along with knowledge transfer

Professional & Technical Skills:

  • 5–12 years of experience in enterprise network security roles, with strong focus on firewall and load balancer administration.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Fortinet along with Palo Alto and F5 BIG-IP
  • Strong understanding of:
    Security policies, ACLs, NAT, IPS/IDS, VPNs
    Traffic load distribution, SSL profiles, health checks
    Authentication integrations (LDAP, RADIUS, SAML)
  • Experience using Splunk for basic log analysis and security event correlation.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting across multi-vendor security environments.
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices, change management, and ticketing tools.

  • Ability to lead incident response and collaborate with senior stakeholders
  • Self-driven, organized, and capable of working under pressure
  • Team player with mentorship mindset for junior engineers
