Business Architecture Specialist Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Avaloq scripts (PL/SQL-based) for core banking functionalities

• Lead parameterization efforts to align Avaloq solutions with client-specific business and regulatory requirements

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts and solution architects, to translate business objectives into scalable technical solutions

• Oversee phases of the development lifecycle including technical analysis, design, implementation, and unit testing of a specific stream.

• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior developers.

• Contribute technical documentation and maintain clean, well-documented code

• Stay up to date with Avaloq development best practices

Business Architecture Specialist Job Qualifications

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field

• At least 4-6 years of hands-on experience in programming or software development, ideally in enterprise or financial services environments

• Proficient in Oracle databases and PL/SQL; familiarity with other relational database systems is a plus

• Solid understanding of software development principles, best practices, and software development lifecycle (SDLC)

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug and resolve complex technical issues

• Demonstrated experience in leading development efforts, mentoring team members, and engaging with business and technical stakeholders

• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams

• Proficiency in English (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus

Must Have Qualifications:

• Prior experience with the Avaloq Core Banking System

• Solid understanding of banking products, services, and related business processes, with the ability to apply this knowledge in technical solution design

• Avaloq certification is highly desirable and considered a strong advantage
