Summary:

As an Application Support Engineer, you will act as software detectives, providing a dynamic service that identifies and resolves issues within various components of critical business systems. Your typical day will involve collaborating with different teams, analyzing system performance, and implementing solutions to enhance operational efficiency. You will engage in troubleshooting activities, ensuring that all systems function optimally and meet the needs of the organization. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining the integrity and reliability of business applications, contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Expected to be an SME, collaborate and manage the team to perform.
    -Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain IBM AIX operating systems on Power Systems
    -Design, manage, and troubleshoot LPARs, VIOS, and HMC
    -Perform patching, backup/recovery, system monitoring, and performance tuning
    -Manage NIM for deployment, updates, and automation of AIX installations
    -Support datacenter to cloud transitions and AIX workload migration to public/hybrid cloud
    -Collaborate with storage, networking, application, and cloud teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
    -Implement and maintain automation scripts for repetitive tasks (e.g., Ansible, Shell)
    -Monitor system health and create proactive solutions for availability and capacity issues
    -Ensure compliance and security standards are met through regular audits and updates
    -Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and recovery procedures
    -Participate in DR drills, incident response, and on-call support rotations

Professional & Technical Skills:

  • Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in AIX System Administration, Backup and Recovery Systems, Ansible on Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong understanding of system architecture and design principles.
    -Strong hands-on experience with IBM AIX installation, configuration, and administration
    -Deep understanding of LPARs, VIOS, HMC, and PowerVM
    -Experience in NIM server setup and management
    -Knowledge of networking, SAN, and volume management (LVM)
    -Experience in patch management, security hardening, and system tuning
    -Exposure to cloud migration or AIX workload integration with cloud platforms
    -Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
    -need to work in 24/7 shift

Additional Information:

  • The candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience in AIX System Administration.
  • This position is based at our Bengaluru office.
  • A 15 years full time education is required.
