Abbott Diabetes Care Kilkenny:

Abbott Diabetes Care has opened  a new site, in Kilkenny, that is  at the forefront of Diabetes care with the latest technology, to manufacture Free Style blood glucose test strips and Free Style Sensors for use in diabetes management. Among Abbott Diabetes Care leading brands are the Free Style Precision, Free Style Lite and Free Style Libre systems.

This is how you can make a difference at Abbott: The Quality Reviewer plays a key role in ensuring that all product is manufactured, handled, and tested in compliance with current regulatory requirements. This role ensures that all associated documentation is completed accurately prior to batch disposition. You will also support manufacturing and warehouse teams to strengthen GMP compliance, material control, and overall product quality.

  • Key Responsibilities

  • Determine lot suitability for release by reviewing test results against product specifications.

  • Assess cumulative impact of lot deviations, non‑conformances and supporting documentation.

  • Release product by performing required transactions in SAP, including material status updates.

  • Support Quality Operations and CAPA teams in identifying quarantined lots within SAP.

  • Audit materials and documentation through inspection, measurement or testing of raw materials, components and sub‑assemblies.

  • Gain a strong understanding of the manufacturing process, system applications and critical process steps.

  • Carry out GMP walks, material verification checks and quality oversight activities within the Warehouse, ensuring proper storage, segregation and handling.

  • Review manufacturing and material documentation to support validation and quality decisions.

  • Communicate issues relating to product release or documentation promptly to relevant personnel.

  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams by meeting regularly, responding to queries and clarifying procedures.

  • Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum NFQ Level 6 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing or regulated environment.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent time‑management and organisational skills.

  • Experience managing internal stakeholders.

  • Experience in SAP is an advantage but not a requirement.
