Abbott Ireland Diabetes Care Division Donegal:
The Abbott Diabetes Care division based in Donegal Town manufactures Free Style blood glucose test strips and Free Style Sensors for use in diabetes management. Among Abbott Diabetes Care leading brands are the Free Style Precision, Free Style Lite and Free Style Libre system.
Primary Function
Support of the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) - POMSnet & auxiliary systems.

Core Job Responsibilities
-
Responsible for diagnosing and resolving problems and implementing a solution to prevent reoccurrence (Root cause Analysis, Corrective and Preventative Actions).
-
Ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision & provide strong attention to detail
-
Ability to assist with new machine integrations, configuration of peripheral devices and process recipe updates.
-
Supports system software upgrades including planning and scheduling, testing and coordination with operations.
-
Ability to work successfully in a team environment supporting applications and other cross functional teams to maintain and support business systems and processes.
-
Supports end-users in day-to-day use of department systems and implement solutions to issues including training, process updates, documentation, system break fix or enhancements.

Experience upgrading applications, support of cybersecurity initiatives and monitoring

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
-
Able to execute & lead IT projects working with cross functional teams.
-
Communicate effectively with team members and all areas of the Business.

Monitors IT processes to ensure compliance to corporate, divisional and local policies and procedures.

Supports and enforces audit compliant policies and standards.
-
Position Accountability / Scope
-
Provide IT and Business Process technical expertise to support Manufacturing Operations.
-
Support in the SLC of validation documentation.
-
Ability to Investigate/ troubleshoot MES and control systems to support optimization of system operations.
-
Communicate with project teams for regular updates, reports, and project escalations.
-
Ensure that the testing and change control strategies meet corporate policy requirements.
-
Integration of hardware, software, communication protocols and interfaces to the users.
-
Support 24x7 on-call production support as part of rotating team coverage.
-
Assist in defining standards, guidelines, best practices and metrics.
-
Support IT maintenance schedules
-
Ensures Local IT has business continuity/disaster recovery plans and participates in testing of plans, as necessary and monitors results of business continuity testing.

Minimum Education.
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computing or IT related disciplines preferred – or equivalent in manufacturing, Quality or engineering discipline
-
Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities
-
Comfortable partnering with cross functional teams to understand and solve problems that will enable deliver reliable software solution.
-
Support the site, critical manufacturing systems, Interface with the business, assist with change control documentation and participate in testing schedules, delivery and testing coordination.
-
Minimum Experience/Training Required to perform this job.
-
Experience of working in a manufacturing GMP environment.
-
Web and application server management.
-
Experience with POMS MES system & exposure to system upgrades a distinct advantage
-
SAP, OSI Pi knowledge, technical and functional would be added advantage.
-
Keen interest in technology and open to learning about new technologies and how these can be used to support the Business.
-
Technical capability and comfortable with working with Oracle and basic knowledge of SQL scripting, Web and application services.
