JOB DESCRIPTION:

About Abbott

Abbott is a global healthcare leader, creating breakthrough science to improve people’s health. We’re always looking towards the future, anticipating changes in medical science and technology.

The Opportunity

Our nutrition business develops science-based nutrition products for people of all ages, from helping babies and children grow, to keeping adult bodies strong and active. Millions of people around the world count on our leading brands – including Similac®, Pedia Sure®, Pedialyte®, Ensure®, Glucerna® and Zone Perfect® – to help get the nutrients they need to live their healthiest life.

We’re looking for an experienced and forward‑thinking EMEA Capability Manager to join our Commercial Excellence team. In this pivotal role, you’ll help build and scale the commercial capabilities that empower our sales, marketing, and cross‑functional teams to deliver best‑in‑class performance.

You’ll work closely with regional leaders across Marketing, Digital, Insights, Innovation, SFE, as well as local market teams, ensuring that capability development is strategic, impactful, and tailored to real-world needs.

If you’re passionate about developing people, elevating commercial execution, and shaping capability transformation across diverse markets, this is a role where you can make a truly regional impact.

What You’ll Do

  • Assess capability needs across all EMEA markets to shape long‑term development priorities

  • Design and deliver capability‑building programmes across sales, marketing, omnichannel engagement, and cross‑functional collaboration

  • Embed field force excellence frameworks in partnership with the SFE Manager

  • Work with Digital, Insights, Innovation and Marketing leads to ensure programmes reflect evolving functional needs

  • Support markets in localising and rolling out capability initiatives

  • Develop measurement frameworks to track impact, adoption, and ROI

  • Maintain a regional library of toolkits, best practices, and learning resources

  • Foster a culture of continuous learning across the organisation

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience in capability development, commercial excellence, or L&D within healthcare, nutrition, or FMCG

  • Strong understanding of sales force effectiveness, marketing, and omnichannel engagement

  • Experience designing learning programmes for diverse markets and cultures

  • Strong stakeholder management and cross‑functional collaboration skills

  • Familiarity with digital learning platforms, coaching tools, and performance analytics

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and project management skills

  • Experience working in a matrixed, multicultural environment

  • Change management capability and an ability to influence leaders at all levels

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Learning & Development, or related field (Master’s preferred)

  • Professional certifications (CIPD, ATD, etc.)

  • Fluency in English; additional European languages are an advantage

The Future of This Role

The Capability Manager will be central to shaping the next generation of digital‑enabled learning in ANI — leveraging AI platforms, personalised learning journeys, digital coaching, and analytics to embed capability into everyday workflows. You’ll evolve from programme delivery to orchestration, driving a culture of continuous improvement across the region.

As you would expect from an innovative global health care company, we offer a competitive range of benefits including excellent salaries, a class-leading defined contribution pension scheme, private healthcare, life assurance, subsidized canteen, and a flexible benefits scheme
