Main Purpose of Role

Responsible for all areas of production planning for product lines which require a higher level of planning ability. Drives continues improvement activities and develops and implement thorough manufacturing build plans, for existing and new products, that meet defined service level and inventory targets for the division.

Main Responsibilities

  • Sales & Operations planning process preparation, including interface with Production, Finance, and other operations groups that are part of this process.
  • Develops solid Production plans that meet service level and operations objectives and works closely with Finance and Operations to gain their input and approval into the final results.
  • Clearly communicate agreed upon production quantities and mix to the Supply Planner Production and other stakeholders.
  • Communicates production plan changes to the Purchasing group in a timely matter.
  • Zero backorder goal – when backorder exists full responsibility for backorder management, root cause analysis, status, prioritization, communication.
  • Production Plan attainment reporting and communication, including holding Operations accountable to the S&OP agreed plan.
  • Set and maintain appropriate inventory levels that meet service level objectives, ZSMI and finish goods inventory targets (DIOH).
  • Monthly inventory management of excess, obsolete, expiring inventory, including developing and implementing solutions to minimize inventory write-offs and communication with Finance on write-off potential.
  • Support new product introduction activities to achieve planned launch dates.
  • Different functions and roles related to Supply chain according to business needs.
  • Proficient in ERP system functionality. Drives S&OP discussions and build plans based on the ERP output. Holds Supply and Demand Planning accountable for signal inconsistencies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, STEM Career or related field

Experience/Background

  • 4+ years Materials/Procurement environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office software
  • Advanced Statistical data analysis and report writing skill required
  • Understanding of MRP, purchasing, and production principles
  • Able to identify and implement cost savings opportunities and implement plans to realize savings
  • Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner

Language Proficiency

  • Advanced Commands of English / Required
  • Basic Portuguese / Preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • ERP experience is a plus and Knowledge of ISO, GMP, JIT, ERP, SAP and Lot control desirable
  • APICS or other Planning/Procurement related certification is a plus
  • Statistical data analysis and report writing skills is a plus
  • Basic project management skills desirable
  • SAP & APO experience

The Opportunity

This position works out of our Costa Rica – Alajuela location in the Structural Heart Division. Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life through the design and provision of device and management solutions for the treatment of structural heart disease. As the Planner IV, you will be responsible for responsible for all areas of production planning for product lines which require a higher level of planning ability.
