**The Opportunity This position works out of our Sturgis, MI location in the Abbott Nutrition division.**Our Nutrition business develops science-based nutrition products for people of all ages, from helping babies and children grow to keeping adult bodies strong and active. What You’ll Work On

  • Maintenance of product level in filler.

  • Ensure proper operating parameters for filler, seamer, and can washer.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on filler and seamer.

  • Ensure commodities are released prior to usage.

  • Perform visual inspection.

  • Ensure proper cleaning methods are used during a wash job.

  • Maintain inventory counts of commodities used during each batch.

  • Set up equipment according to packing requirements and adjust as necessary during production.

  • Load commodities into equipment.

  • Maintain the cleanliness of equipment and work stations.

  • Perform and document Quality checks and preventative maintenance.

You will be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to read gauges and instruments
  • Ability to prepare simple reports and follow routine machine operations
  • Ability to do basic math (add, subtract, multiply, decimals, divide, fractions, proportions)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Entry-level manufacturing or equivalent experience
  • Safety training
  • Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) training
  • Forklift license
  • Quality inspection, documentation, and inventory control experience
