The Opportunity

This role, based in either Abbott Park or Willis Tower in Chicago, supports the Global Purchasing Services (GPS) Business Excellence team. As a Procurement Specialist, you'll help drive Source‑to‑Pay best practices, enhance procurement processes, and deliver exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders. You will operate within established procedures while also contributing to continuous improvement and innovation across GPS.

What You’ll Work On

  • Partner with the Supplier Enablement team to invite, qualify, and disqualify suppliers within SAP Ariba.
  • Support Source‑to‑Pay process and technology enhancements related to supplier qualification and the purchase requisition/purchase order lifecycle.
  • Provide reporting support for supplier additions/reductions, preferred supplier targets, spend, and supplier performance management.
  • Assist the GPS Buying Channel lead with the end‑to‑end PR/PO process, including stakeholder engagement, issue resolution, and process optimization.
  • Meet regularly with category teams, divisional customers, and support functions to maintain strong stakeholder relationships and drive improvement.
  • Support change management efforts to promote adoption of preferred suppliers and updated processes.
  • Provide analytical support for supplier rationalization opportunities and supplier performance surveys.
  • Support monthly direct tariff exposure reporting to ensure accurate data for executive decision‑making.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline reporting, reduce cycle times, and elevate customer service.
  • Help drive a global supplier qualification/disqualification process as Ariba expands across regions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of procurement experience.
  • Understanding of Source‑to‑Pay processes and technologies such as SAP Ariba or similar systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Functional experience in Procurement, Finance, or related business functions.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing, and networking abilities.
  • Strong problem‑solving and project management skills.
  • Self‑starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in analytics and reporting using tools such as Power BI, Excel, Smartsheet, or Qlik View.
  • Additional Source‑to‑Pay technology experience is a plus.

The base pay for this position is

$61,300.00 – $122,700.00
