Your role and responsibilities
As a Process Quality Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing customer satisfaction by resolving complaints, analyzing defects, and providing actionable solutions. You will focus on ensuring the quality of Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) for data centers and critical power applications. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to ABB's commitment to delivering high-quality products and services in an evolving and constantly changing environment.
The work model for the role is: #Li-Onsite.
The role will support for the ABB India Ltd for Electrification Smart Power business to be based at Nelamangala Bangalore.
You will be mainly accountable for:

Develop and maintain Quality Plans, Control Plans, and inspection checklists, while identifying **Critical to Quality (CTQ)**parameters and establishing quality gates (Q-gates) to ensure product compliance and process control.

Monitor and analyze First Pass Yield (FPY) metrics to identify improvement opportunities, implement quality enhancement strategies, and improve process efficiency and automation in manufacturing.

Manage and analyze customer complaints, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions; also analyze returned defective products and provide 8D reports to customers.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams during customer audits, **Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT),**and certification audits (ISO/IEC), while performing COPQ analysis and DMAIC-based problem solving to reduce defects and improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications for the role:
-
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and industry experience.

Thorough knowledge of UPS systems and other power conditioning products.
-
Experience working with high-power three-phase applications.
-
Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics for machines and PCBAs.

Practical experience using quality tools and methodologies such as FMEA, 7 QC Tools, 5S, 5 Why, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, SPC, DMAIC, and 8D Root Cause Analysis.

Experience using engineering and design tools including AutoCAD, MATLAB, LabVIEW, and PCBA programming.

Skilled in operating power meters, oscilloscopes, and data acquisition systems, along with knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma and process improvement methodologies.
