This Position reports to:

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to conduct proactive business development aligned with the division’s strategy in countries where business conditions require increased attention and focus. Each day, you will provide business support, including expertise in products, applications, solutions, and segment and customer (group) support for the assigned product portfolio. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring profitable business growth and sustainable deployment of the division’s strategic plan.

This role is contributing to the B&R Automation in Pune/Ahmedabad/ Bangalore/ Faridabad, India.

  • Lead industry competence development by networking with global industry players and building strong industry insights.
  • Engage with customers through advisory discussions, technical solutioning, and proof‑of‑concept activities to validate use cases.
  • Facilitate connections between EUs, OEMs, and B&R, supporting OEMs that require EU references for solution alignment.
  • Drive thought leadership through active participation in industry events, associations, fairs, and social media to strengthen brand presence.
  • Apply a consultative sales approach by organizing customer days, presenting customized value propositions, and promoting portfolio offerings to expand share of wallet across key accounts or industry segments.

Qualifications of the role

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, or related field).
  • 10–12 years of relevant experience in pre‑sales, sales, business development, technical sales support, or prescription roles, with 6–8 years of leadership experience.
  • Strong leadership capability to manage and develop teams of industry and portfolio specialists.
  • Experience in industry-specific marketing, including creating and executing segment strategies (Pharma, Packaging, Printing, CPG, Electronics Assembly, Battery, etc.).
  • Proven ability to collaborate with Innovation, R&D, and Product Groups to build future opportunity pipelines and translate market needs into product strategies.
  • Skilled in value proposition creation, sales tool development, and supporting consultative selling for complex technical portfolios.
  • Strong market intelligence skills, including monitoring trends, collecting insights, and conducting competitor benchmarking.
  • Experience in market development, driving growth across verticals, and leading product initiatives in Vision, Mechatronics, Motion, Automation, IIoT, Edge, and Adaptive Automation.
