This Position reports to: Business Chief Financial Officer

Company Information

In October 2025, ABB announced the divestment of its robotics division to Soft Bank Group Corp. The transaction is expected to be closed in mid to late 2026. ABB Robotics generated about 2.3 BUSD revenue in 2024 and will continue to operate on a standalone basis in approximately 50 countries, with major manufacturing facilities in China, Sweden and the USA.

General Information

As the China Treasury Manager, you will play a key role in managing and strengthening Treasury operations in China for the ABB Robotics group. Working closely with the ABB Robotics Corporate Treasury and regional finance teams, you will be responsible for day-to-day Treasury activities in China, ensuring robust liquidity management, effective financial risk management, and strong trade finance structures in line with Group policies and local regulatory requirements.

You will oversee cash management, foreign exchange (FX) risk management, bank guarantees, and BAD related Treasury activities, while ensuring compliance with internal controls, regulatory frameworks, and evolving requirements linked to the separation and future standalone operations of ABB Robotics.

You will act as the primary Treasury contact for China, partnering with local business, finance, and external banking counterparts to ensure Treasury processes are efficient and aligned with global standards, while reflecting local market practices. This role will contribute to building a lean and well-governed Treasury operating model, supporting ABB Robotics' significant manufacturing and commercial footprint in the country.

You will be reporting to the ABB Robotics Corporate Treasurer. This role is based in Shanghai, China.

Key Responsibilities

Cash Management and Liquidity:

  • Responsible for daily cash management activities in China, including cash positioning, forecasting, and liquidity planning
  • Ensure optimal utilization of cash balances in compliance with Group policies and local regulatory constraints
  • Manage and optimize intercompany funding, cash pooling participation, and local financing structures
  • Support bank account management, KYC processes, and periodic bank reviews
  • Contribute to bank fee monitoring and optimization initiatives

FX Risk Management:

  • Responsible for identification, monitoring, and management of foreign exchange exposures in China
  • Execute FX hedging transactions in line with Corporate Treasury policies and delegated authorities
  • Support FX forecasting and reporting to Corporate Treasury
  • Ensure compliance with local SAFE and regulatory requirements related to FX activities

Trade Finance:

  • Negotiate and manage guarantee, bank acceptance draft and short-term trade finance facilities in China
  • Manage the issuance, amendment, and monitoring of bank guarantees and related instruments for China entities
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting of guarantees and contingent liabilities
  • Provide support to the lead for supply chain finance, accounts receivable finance, Bank Acceptance Draft (BAD), and discounting facility initiatives, assisting with the implementation and management of these programs as required

Treasury Governance and Controls:

  • Ensure adherence to ABB Robotics Treasury policies, guidelines, and internal control framework
  • Support internal and external audits related to Treasury activities in China
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of Treasury processes, controls, and systems

Bank Relationship Management:

  • Act as key point of contact for local and international banks in China

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in a Treasury function of a multinational company, with hands-on exposure to cash management, FX risk management, and bank guarantees in China
  • University degree (Bachelor/Master) plus further professional qualifications
  • Solid knowledge of Treasury instruments and products relevant to cash management, FX, and bank guarantees
  • Strong understanding of China-specific regulatory and banking environment
  • Strong track record of working independently while effectively collaborating with Corporate and regional teams
  • Recognized as strong team player and appreciated for collaboration and business partnering skills, with excellent business acumen
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adhere to strict deadlines
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent Mandarin and English language skills, both written and verbal; knowledge of Korean a plus
