This Position reports to:
Maintenance Supervisor
Safety

Understands and follows plant safety and procedures.

Avoids or prevents hazardous conditions from developing.

Wear appropriate protective equipment as required, dress and conducts self in a safe manner.

Keeps work area clean and orderly and maintains Lean 5S.
-
Participates in plant safety objectives.
Job Functions
-
Supports company mission, vision and goals

Able to work with sense of urgency and prioritizing tasks
-
Use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring equipment and testing instruments
-
Observe mechanical and electrical devices in operation to locate cause of trouble
-
Dismantle devices to gain access to remove defective parts
-
Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments
-
Repair, replace or rebuild necessary parts to make machine function safely
-
Start device to test performance
-
Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on all machines and equipment for proper operation
-
Use prints and drawings provided by the manufacturer and the engineering department for the rebuilding procedures
-
Lay out electrical panels from drawings, sketches, or verbal instructions, which would include microprocessors, relays, etc.
-
Set up and operate drill press, grinder, welding, and cutting equipment to make and/or repair parts
-
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and machinery
-
Observe company safety rules, regulations, and policies
-
Perform, as assigned, other similar or related duties
-
May be required to work other shifts and over-time
-
Help maintain an orderly and clean working environment
-
Forklift certification required. Must have clean driving record
-
Interprets and reacts to data trends on available up time, mean time between repairs
Education and Experience
-
High School Education, GED or Equivalent
-
Must have 2 years post-secondary technical training or 5 years industrial maintenance experience
-
Ability to lift to 40lbs and perform push/pull functions
-
Can work overtime to meet Business Objectives
-
Can work a weekend schedule as needed.
Skills and/or Training
-
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand various written instructions in English
-
Bend, twist & turn in a safe manner
-
Ability to lift to 40lbs and perform push/pull functions
-
Stand for long periods
-
Good hand dexterity
-
Strong math skills
