Key responsibilities

As a Product Specialist in an Agile Team, you will develop and maintain products and solutions in Industrial Controlling & Monitoring Devices, ensuring ABB fully understands market requirements and translates them into product/system specifications and development activities.

Your portfolio includes Measuring, Monitoring, and Time Relays, Power Supplies, and Interface Relays within the Industry & Control Unit of the Smart Power Division.

This role offers collaboration with local and international stakeholders and close customer engagement. An exciting opportunity for those seeking a new challenge.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Understand market and customer requirements, monitor portfolio performance, and assess impact on products and solutions.

• Identify business opportunities, define technical product specifications, and develop business cases for new product developments.

• Develop and manage alternative market entry strategies for complementary offerings, from specification to launch.

• Represent the customer’s voice internally and support operational teams with product management activities.

• Keep Agile Units, sales, and channels informed about portfolio updates, market trends, competition, and operational information.

• Track business performance for assigned products/services and implement improvement actions.

• Support Marketing & Communication with content and documentation for promotional activities.

• Collaborate with related ABB system solutions to align product offerings and uphold ABB’s values of safety and integrity.

Qualifications for the role

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Automation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience in product management within the electrification business, with relevant knowledge of products or industries, combining a technical background with strong business acumen.

• Ambitious, self-motivated, and customer-focused, with strong awareness of market and competitors.

• Solid team player with an independent, solution-oriented working style.

• Resilient in an agile and changing environment, structured, and able to grasp the bigger picture.

• Willingness to travel occasionally for business purposes (e.g., customer visits, voice-of-customer initiatives, trainings).

• Fluent in German and negotiation-level English (both written and spoken).
