Your role and responsibilities

As the Global Product Manager, you will be accountable for the long-term profitable growth for railway traction systems. A very good understanding of power electronic and control systems together with domain and market know-how are essential to be successful in this role and to leverage the full potential of the product to successfully meet customer needs.
The work model for the role is:

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Full Product & Technical Ownership: Act as the central technical expert for your product segment, from supporting sales with technical solutions and cost estimations to managing the entire product lifecycle, including enhancements, cost reductions, and obsolescence planning.

  • Strategic Market & Portfolio Management: Drive the future of your product line by conducting in-depth market analysis, identifying portfolio gaps, and developing data-driven product roadmaps and business plans to ensure long-term growth and profitability.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration: Serve as the critical interface between customers and internal teams (sales, engineering, R&D, and operations) translating customer requirements into successful projects while managing stakeholder expectations, forecasting volumes, and driving cost optimization initiatives.

  • Customer Relationship & Experience Champion: Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with key customers, deeply understanding their needs and manage challenging issues and escalations to ensure superior customer satisfaction.

Qualifications for the role

  • Over 10 years of relevant experience in an industrial environment covering roles in engineering, R&D or product management with a preference for experience in more than one area.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead by influence, adopting a collaborative and solution-oriented approach with a strategic mindset and strong problem-solving abilities.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent area.

  • Expertise in converter control systems or power electronic converters is required. Knowledge of the railway sectors being a significant advantage.

  • Proven track record in managing products and/or projects globally specifically in the field of mobile applications with a strong focus on energy efficiency

  • Skilled in managing complex customer relationships and effectively resolving escalations.

  • English mandatory; German is beneficial
