Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Accounts Payable (AP) Team Manager to lead and develop our Procure-to-Pay team. In this leadership role, you will be fully accountable for the end-to-end accounts payable function, including payment operations, process compliance, and team performance. You will drive efficiency, ensure the highest standards of accuracy and control, and play a key role in optimizing our P2P processes. This is a critical opportunity for a people-focused leader to manage a team, influence stakeholders, and contribute to the strategic goals of the global finance function.
Your Role and Responsibilities :

Team Leadership & People Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of AP specialists, fostering a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement, accuracy, and customer service.
- Manage all aspects of team performance, including workload allocation, goal setting (KPIs), performance reviews, and professional development planning.
- Recruit, onboard, and train new team members to ensure the team is skilled, motivated, and operates effectively.
End-to-End Process Ownership & Control:
- Take full ownership of the AP process, ensuring all payments are reviewed, verified, and processed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Act as the primary Process Control Owner for AP, guaranteeing full compliance with Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICoFR) requirements. Lead internal control testing and coordinate with internal and external auditors.
- Ensure all financial postings and records are maintained in strict adherence to RARO accounting rules and local statutory regulations.
Operational Excellence & Performance Management:
- Oversee the month-end and year-end closing activities for AP, ensuring all accruals and reconciliations are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Analyze AP performance metrics (e.g., payment accuracy, cycle times, aging reports) to identify trends, resolve issues, and drive process improvements.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure team efficiency and effectiveness.
Stakeholder Engagement & Strategic Contribution:
- Serve as the key point of contact for AP-related inquiries from internal business partners and external suppliers.
- Proactively manage relationships with key stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and high levels of satisfaction.
- Lead and contribute to local and global projects aimed at standardizing, automating, and optimizing the P2P process.
Qualifications for the Role:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Accounts Payable or P2P functions, with at least 2 years in a direct people management role leading a team.
- Proven track record of managing the full AP cycle within a shared service or center of excellence environment, preferably in a multinational corporation.
- Demonstrable experience in managing process controls, compliance (ICoFR), and leading audit activities.
- **Leadership:** Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to coach, inspire, and develop a team.
- **Technical Proficiency:** Expert knowledge of AP processes, accounting principles, and proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP/CFIN is essential). Advanced skills in MS Office, particularly Excel for data analysis.
- **Analytical & Strategic Mindset:** Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to drive process improvements and manage based on data and KPIs.
- **Communication:** Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
- **Personal Attributes:** Result-oriented, customer-focused, with strong interpersonal skills and a resilient, optimistic attitude.
