Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly analytical and process-driven Master Data Governance (MDG) Team Lead to oversee the integrity and management of our critical master data in China. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and governance of key data objects, including customer, vendor, cost center, profit center, and other financial master data within our /CFIN environment. As the Team Lead, you will manage one Data Analyst, establish robust control processes, and serve as the key liaison between local business needs and our global data governance framework. Your leadership will be instrumental in maintaining data quality that supports accurate financial reporting and efficient business operations.
Key Responsibilities
1.
Team Leadership & Process Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage the performance of one Master Data Analyst, ensuring high-quality and timely execution of all data maintenance activities.
- Own and optimize the end-to-end processes for creating, changing, and inactivating master data records, ensuring strict adherence to global data standards.
- Act as the final point of approval and control for all local master data requests, guaranteeing compliance with defined policies and procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency, data quality, and control effectiveness.

Master Data Governance & Quality Control:
- Function as the primary custodian for master data governance in China, enforcing data standards, policies, and compliance requirements.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for data quality, producing regular reports for stakeholders and management.
- Coordinate with IT and global teams on SAP system configuration settings related to master data to meet local business requirements while maintaining global alignment.
- Ensure a strong internal control environment is maintained around master data processes, supporting internal and external audit requirements.

Stakeholder Engagement & Business Partnership:
- Serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for local business functions (Finance, Procurement, Sales) regarding master data needs and issues.
- Collaborate effectively with the global MDG team to align local processes with the overarching governance framework and strategic direction.
- Promote a culture of data governance across the organization by providing training and guidance to business users on best practices.
Qualifications and Experience
- **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in master data management, specifically within an SAP environment. Proven expertise with Customer, Vendor, and FI/CO master data is essential.
- At least 2 years of experience in a team lead, supervisory, or senior expert role with responsibility for guiding others' work.
- Experience in a Shared Service Center or multinational corporation is highly preferred.
- **Skills:Technical Expertise:** Deep, practical knowledge of SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) modules and the transactional impact of data across SD, MM, and FI/CO.
- **Governance Mindset:** Strong understanding of data governance principles, frameworks, and the importance of data quality.
- **Leadership & Communication:** Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage a team and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Fluency in English and Mandarin is required.
- **Analytical Skills:** Meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
