Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the assigned Sales organization (division and market) and customers during the proposal process. Each day, you will serve as a key technical resource in the assigned area. You will also showcase your expertise by preparing technical descriptions of the products and technology, determining costs, and preparing final documentation.

This role is contributing to the Process Automation business for BA Function Operation Centers and Quality division based in Bangalore, India

Your role and responsibilities (Mandatory)

• Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of testing and commissioning activities, ensuring timely completion and successful customer acceptance.
• Demonstrate in-depth hands-on experience in configuring and programming ABB Relion relays using PCM600, along with equivalent numerical protection relays (IEDs). Knowledge of GE, SEL, and Hitachi relays is an added advantage.
• Provide expertise in condition monitoring of electrical equipment to support predictive maintenance and enhance reliability.
• Proactively identify technical risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure all stakeholders are regularly updated throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors and service providers to ensure timely availability of the required commissioning tools, systems, and services.
• Skilled in operating and managing primary and secondary injection test equipment from manufacturers such as Omicron, Doble, and Freja.

Qualifications for the role:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering /Diploma in Electrical Engineering with minimum 5 years of relevant experience for commissioning Engineer / 10 years of relevant experience for Lead Engineer.
• Proficient in IEC 61850 relay engineering, including GOOSE messaging and communication setup.
• Possess working knowledge of Modbus, Profibus, and Profinet protocols; familiarity with their integration into automation systems is a plus.
• Independently perform electrical testing and commissioning of:Power and distribution transformers
• UPS systems and batteries
• Distribution boards
• HV/MV/LV switchgear, focusing on ABB models such as Unigear ZS1, ZX1 (AIS & GIS), M10X, and UMC100.
