Key responsibilities

We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled engineer to help safeguard and advance the future of our medium‑voltage switchgear portfolio. In this position, you will play a key role in ensuring the long‑term availability, manufacturability, and compliance of established product families—technologies that are deployed in critical energy infrastructure worldwide.

As part of our lifecycle engineering team, you will evaluate, adapt, and improve existing designs in response to supplier changes, quality‑related findings, regulatory requirements, and manufacturing needs. Your work directly contributes to product reliability, sustainability, and customer satisfaction over the entire lifecycle. This role provides the opportunity to work across electrical and mechanical engineering domains and to collaborate closely with Quality, SCM, Operations, and suppliers.

The work model for the role is: hybrid (#)

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Ensure continuous material availability by adapting product designs when suppliers, materials, or components change or become obsolete.

  • Implement design modifications based on quality findings, EHS requirements, customer or field feedback, and corrective actions.

  • Support Operations by updating drawings, specifications, and detailed design elements based on production input and process changes.

  • Maintain full compliance with regulatory and internal standards across all existing product variants.

  • Perform engineering assessments to ensure that any design changes maintain required electrical, mechanical, and thermal performance.

  • Conduct analyses and design updates related to electrical insulation, mechanical adaptations, materials, or thermal behavior.

  • Execute structured engineering processes, including requirement clarification, risk assessments, impact analyses, documentation, and testing/validation of updated components.

  • Contribute to type testing, re‑qualification, and design verification activities as needed.

  • Collaborate closely with Quality, SCM, Operations, and suppliers to implement product updates smoothly and on schedule.

Qualifications for the role

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related field (Ph.D. welcome but not required).

  • Strong analytical mindset and a structured, solution‑oriented approach.

  • Interest in lifecycle engineering and maintaining/improving established technologies.

  • Experience with medium‑voltage switchgear, lifecycle/product care engineering, or high‑voltage equipment.

  • Knowledge on insulating gases, dielectric strength, and HV testing methods.

  • Familiarity with engineering change processes and structured documentation.

  • Motivated graduates with relevant academic background are strongly encouraged to apply.
