Your role and responsibilities
We are looking for a FCT Design Engineer to join our Box Build Operation – Production Technical Support team at ABB Oy, Drives unit in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki, Finland.
In this role, you will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and optimizing FCT (Functional Circuit Test) solutions that ensure the highest quality standards across ABB's global production operations. You will showcase your skills in commissioning and providing technical support for our testers in global production environment as an issue resolution and continuous improvement. Your role includes participating in project specific FCT development with subcontractors.
This position provides you with a unique opportunity to expand your skills across multiple dimensions. You gain deep insight into the latest testing technologies and stay current with industry innovations. You get to develop your management and leadership capabilities while deepening your technical expertise. Moreover, you get the chance to contribute to the evolution of ABB's global tester infrastructure and platform.
The work model for the role is: hybrid
You will be mainly accountable for:

Providing technical support for ABB Drives and PLC (programmable logic controllers) product FCT system globally

Developing FCT environment in co-operation with the global team for ABB manufacturing organization and manufacturing suppliers

Participating in PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) FCT and box build functional test IS environment improvements and maintaining the environment

Supporting R&D projects and production ramp up on manufacturing activities in global EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Suppliers)

Reviewing ABB functional tester suppliers' deliveries together with production technical support team
Qualifications for the role
-
Solid knowledge of NI LabVIEW, Test Stand, and GIT together with basic knowledge of Python is essential. Experience in C++ and C# is beneficial

Demonstrated familiarity with relational databases is beneficial

Cross functional thinking and solution-oriented mindset is required
-
Knowledge of variable speed drives, servo drive, PLC, or similar industrial products, and familiarity with production testing environments of electronics products are essential

Methodical and systematic ways of working with the ability to make decisions and produce clear documentation of one’s work are relevant
-
You are fluent in spoken and written English
-
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally

A B.Sc. or M.Sc. in technology
