Sales Support Specialist – High Power Base Business | Motion Chile (Santiago).
Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to create and complete bids/estimations/quotations for Motion High Power Base Business (Drives and Large Motors) in Chile, based on customer specifications, requirements, and budgets. Each day, you will work closely with Sales and internal stakeholders to ensure competitive, compliant, and profitable proposals, balancing speed, accuracy, and risk awareness. You will also showcase your expertise by building high-quality technical and commercial offers with a strong focus on cost accuracy, clear assumptions, and alignment with ABB governance and approval processes. A growing portion of your scope will support opportunities linked to the energy transition, including renewable energy applications.

This role is contributing to ABB Motion – Motion High Power Base Business in Chile, based in Santiago. Main stakeholders are Sales & Account Managers, Product/PA Sales Specialists (Drives and Motors), Engineering/Technical Support, Supply Chain & Logistics, Finance, Legal, Business Risk, Trade Compliance, Factory interfaces, Service, and customers (e.g., Mining, Metals, Pulp & Paper, and Renewable Energy developers/EPCs).
You will be mainly accountable for:
Calculating budgetary values for the sales team or customers to assess investment willingness, using the appropriate level of detail.
Managing the preparation of all technical and commercial documentation (e.g., defining suitable technology and product type(s)), financial documentation (e.g., total price sheets, cash flow analysis where applicable), indicating prices and trading conditions, ensuring full cost accuracy.
Collaborating with sales teams and engaging with customers when required to clarify requirements, gather inputs, and support technical/commercial alignment during the bid phase.
Ensuring that, according to bid/estimate/quotation planning, inputs for editing activities are provided on time and follow established quality procedures and governance.
Supporting bid governance activities, including internal approvals, risk identification, and alignment of commercial terms with Finance/Legal/Business Risk.
Coordinating proposal inputs end-to-end across ABB stakeholders (Sales, factories, engineering, supply chain), ensuring scope clarity, interfaces, assumptions, and exclusions are documented.
Maintaining bid documentation and reporting bid status in defined tools; supporting win/loss analysis and continuous improvement of proposal quality and cycle time.
Contributing to standardization of templates, costing practices, and proposal content for Drives and Large Motors, including emerging renewable energy applications.

Qualifications for the role
You have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical , Electronic Engineering or a related field .
2+ years of experience in bid & proposal, tendering, estimations, sales support, or sales engineering in industrial B2B environments in Chile.
Demonstrated ability to build end-to-end proposals with accurate costing, clear assumptions, strong documentation, and disciplined planning (tender-to-offer).
Strong understanding of Drives and/or Large Motors base business, with the ability to translate technical value into competitive commercial offers; exposure to renewable energy applications is a plus.
Solid skills in pricing, commercial terms awareness, and basic contract/risk understanding, engaging with Finance and Legal when required.
Highly adept in MS Office (Excel advanced) and bid/CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce or similar); comfortable reporting bid status and supporting win/loss insights.
Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills; able to interface with Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, and factories under time pressure.
You are at ease communicating in Spanish and English (spoken and written) in a multinational environment.
You hold current work permit/right to work in Chile and, if required, a valid driver’s license.
