Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to ensure the implementation, maintenance, and compliance of the purchasing activities in the Procurement function to support the businesses. Each day, you will execute assigned activities as per ABB standard procedures. You will also showcase your expertise by delivering and participating in training programs as required to ensure compliance and to foster professional development.

This role is contributing to the AU Indirect Material and Services Procurement Team based at Bangalore, India:

You will be mainly accountable for

• Review incoming Purchase Requisitions (PRs) for Sub‑Saharan Africa (SSA) to ensure they are fully released, properly approved, and contain all mandatory attachments before processing.

• Convert validated PRs into Purchase Orders (POs) in SAP in accordance with procurement procedures and compliance guidelines.

• Once POs are fully released, manually extract the official PO PDF from SAP and communicate it to the respective suppliers to initiate order fulfillment.

• Raise and manage all vendor‑related change requests through MDG (Master Data Governance) and SNOW for updates such as bank details, address, contact numbers, tax information, and new vendor creation.

• Monitor and action Open PR and Open PO reports weekly, ensuring timely follow‑ups with requestors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to avoid delays.

• Serve as the backup for ZA PO management in the absence of Madhu, handling all related procurement and order issuance responsibilities without disruption.

• Manage end‑to‑end sourcing activities for South Africa (ZA) using the Service Now (SNOW) tool.

• Review and assign procurement tickets accurately to the appropriate category or buyer.

Qualifications for the role

• Minimum 2 + yrs of experience in Procurement

• Hands- on experience working with SAP/Ariba would be a plus• Experience in conversion from Purchase requisition to purchase orders

• Experience working in shared services environment would be a plus. Advanced • Excel skills would be a plus.

• Very good written and verbal communication skills. Flexibility to work in Africa standard time.

• Proficient in English (B2) required and graduation required.
