Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to support regional and global sourcing initiatives, either under the leadership of a regional/global Category Manager or by managing your own tasks within a defined threshold. Each day, you will ensure timely and accurate procurement of materials and services aligned with technical specifications, pricing, schedules, and terms, in full compliance with ABB purchasing policies. You will also engage closely with suppliers, category leaders, and internal stakeholders to enhance value through sourcing excellence.

This role is contributing to the ABB India, Electrification Business Smart Power Division in India. will be based at “Nelamangala - Bangalore – India”.
You will be mainly accountable for:

Sourcing Strategy Support: Support the development and execution of sourcing strategies in alignment with regional and global category leadership.

Supplier Negotiation & Contracts: Negotiate with key suppliers and manage price lists, contracts, terms & conditions, and local framework agreements.

Strategic Sourcing & Analysis: Conduct benchmark studies and provide data-driven analysis to support strategic sourcing initiatives and decision-making.

Supplier Performance & Compliance: Onboard and evaluate suppliers, generate performance reports, and ensure compliance with procurement KPIs and policies.

Procurement Execution & Coordination: Manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and facilitate coordination between business units, suppliers, and logistics for smooth end-to-end sourcing execution.
Qualifications for the role:

Full-time BE/Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

8–15 years of procurement and supply chain experience in UPS or industrial sectors.

Practical experience in sourcing, supplier negotiation, and contract management across technical categories.

Skilled in using Power BI, MS Excel Macros, and VB for analytical reporting and data visualization.

Effective communication skills and ability to work in a matrix organization with global stakeholders.

Experience with supplier onboarding, evaluation, and lifecycle management.

Knowledge of ABB systems/tools and a continuous improvement mindset.
