Service Team Leader:

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this position, you perform service activities of low to medium complexity according to ABB processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines. You plan and execute tasks with a first‑time‑right approach and demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and ownership toward customers.

This role supports the Process Automation – Energy Industries Service Team in the Benelux, where our industrial and utility customers rely on ABB’s DCS and automation technologies. You bridge IT and process automation, resolve technical issues both remotely and on-site, and act as a trusted ambassador of ABB.

Work model for this role: on‑site

You are primarily responsible for

  • Executing field service activities, identifying technical issues, and providing troubleshooting remotely or on-site.

  • Preparing material lists for service tasks and ensuring all parts, tools, and equipment comply with ABB quality standards.

  • Diagnosing and resolving equipment or process failures, and recommending preventive measures to avoid recurrence.

  • Identifying customer improvement opportunities and bottlenecks to optimize operational performance.

Qualifications for the Role

  • Skilled and passionate about working with PLC/DCS systems, industrial automation, and communication protocols (OPC, Modbus, Profibus, Profinet) within the energy and chemical sectors.

  • Strong knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office, and basic IT understanding (networks, systems).

  • Enthusiastic about problem-solving and delivering high-quality service.

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in automation or an equivalent technical domain.

  • Fluent communication in Dutch, French, and English.

  • Holder of a category B driver’s license and willing to travel within the Benelux.
