Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the provision of contract management services, ensuring that all contract management activities are executed in accordance with the relevant corporate/division/business policies and procedures, as well as the Contract Management Policy and Contract Management Framework. Each day, you will ensure that the portfolio of contracts in the business follows contract and claim management methodologies in accordance with internal standard procedures. You will also showcase your expertise by reviewing and commenting on commercial and technical tender terms and conditions.

This role is contributing to the Finance organization in Germany.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • You and review customer contract terms and conditions, draft commercial terms for bids and provide support for the structuring and negotiation of contracts. You also review and comment on warranty, guarantee and suretyship texts and bond accessions.

  • You develop and negotiate consortium and joint venture agreements, contributing to the preparation and implementation of local and global framework agreements. You also prepare contractual analyses, risk assessments and recommendations, presenting them to senior management.

  • You work closely with the project management team on preparing, documenting, negotiating, enforcing and defending claims with customers and suppliers. At the same time, you actively support the prevention of claims and the mitigation of contractual and commercial risks.

  • You will also train bid and project managers on contractual, commercial and claim-related topics, as well as coordinate and monitor legal disputes in close collaboration with the legal department and external law firms, ensuring the effective enforcement or defence of claims. In addition, you will take a leadership role with one employee.

Qualifications for the role

  • A completed degree in Business Law (Wirtschaftsjura) or a comparable qualification

  • Several years of professional experience in contract and claim management

  • Strong expertise in risk analysis and risk assessment

  • Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken, with effective negotiation skills

  • Excellent communication skills, ability to work in a team, and effective negotiation capabilities

  • Professional and convincing demeanor combined with a practical approach

  • Motivated, structured, and solution-oriented working style with strong conceptual skills
