Your role and responsibilities

Are you someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, working directly with customers, and making a real impact in the field? As a Service Engineer at ABB, you will be the technical expert our clients rely on to keep their operations running smoothly. You’ll work with smart instrumentation and analyzers across a variety of industries, combining hands-on service with customer interaction and problem-solving.

This is a role where no two days are the same. One day you will focus on maintenance—ensuring our smart instrumentation and analyzers perform reliably over time, the next you might be commissioning a new system or troubleshooting a complex issue.

This is a hands-on role where you will be out in the field, working with cutting-edge technology and building strong relationships with customers. You’ll be part of a team that values initiative, craftsmanship, and customer satisfaction.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Perform routine service tasks to keep ABB equipment operating at peak performance.

  • Install and configure new instrumentation and analyzer systems at customer sites.

  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues—both remotely and on-site—to minimize downtime.

  • Provide technical advice and training to customers on system operation and maintenance.

  • Support the sales team with technical insights and service recommendations.

  • Prepare service reports and ensure all activities are properly recorded and signed off.

  • Identify opportunities to improve service methods, tools, and applications.

  • Above all, make our customers feel supported, informed, and confident in our solutions.

The work model for the role is remote / hybrid.

Qualifications for the role

  • A technical degree or equivalent experience in instrumentation, automation, electronics, or a related field.

  • A hands-on mindset and enthusiasm for fieldwork.

  • Willingness to travel across the Benelux region.

  • Strong communication skills in Dutch and English; French is a plus

  • Curiosity and motivation to grow into the role.

  • Valid driver’s license and work permit (if applicable).

What's in it for you?

When you run what runs the world, you should feel supported in this mission every step of the way.

Here’s what we offer:

  • A dynamic role with lots of variety and autonomy.

  • Opportunities to learn and grow through training and mentoring.

  • A collaborative team that values your input and initiative.

  • Freedom to plan your day, set your pace, and own your success stories.

  • Competitive salary and benefits such as an electric company car + charging card, meal vouchers, expense reimbursement, 32 paid vacation days (20 legal + 12 ADV), comprehensive hospitalization, group, and pension insurance.
