Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll help run what runs the world by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact. You will have the opportunity to be responsible for the sales of Smart Building and Smart Power products within a designated market, in line with the division strategy. Main stakeholders are switch board builder, OEMs, Distributors and wholesalers. You’ll also showcase your commercial insight by identifying new opportunities, expanding our presence in the market, and demonstrating the value of our technology to both existing and new customers.

Work model: hybrid, based in our brand‑new ABB office in Christchurch, you’ll enjoy the flexibility to work in a modern environment while travelling across your South Island territory to build strong relationships

  • Communicating to customers about delivery times, payments, and general terms and conditions, aligned with ABB’s offering and strategy.
  • Ensuring efficient marketing activities and clearly communicating ABB’s value proposition to customers.
  • Identifying and driving the development of new market opportunities within the Smart Building & Smart Power market in New Zealand.
  • Managing administrative procedures within the sales process and supporting cash collection and project management activities as needed.

Qualifications for the Role

  • Degree in electrical engineering or demonstrated track record in the electrical industry.
  • Proven experience working in the electrical industry within the New Zealand market.
  • Highly skilled in solution-based sales, ideally in Smart Building or Smart Power products.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical products, market dynamics, and customer needs across OEMs, distributors, wholesalers, and switchboard builders.
  • Proven ability to identify new opportunities, develop strong customer relationships, and drive growth.
  • Mindset to innovate, take ownership, and continuously improve.
  • Current New Zealand driver’s licence
