This role sits within ABB's Robotics business, a leading global robotics company. We're entering an exciting new chapter as we’ve announced the plan for Soft Bank Group to acquire ABB Robotics. This Position reports to:

Senior Engineering Manager:

Your Role and Responsibilities :

Work model: onsite

  • EDP supply base owner in China to best support plant operations.
  • Lead annual category spend analysis (Direct Materials) to identify cost optimization opportunities with top 20% high-value suppliers and develop yearly work plan to achieve the cost reduction target according to the company annual budget. Meanwhile, Implement Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models integrating logistics, inventory, and lifecycle costs to refine supplier selection criteria.
  • Establish dual/multi-sourcing strategies for critical materials with regional backup suppliers and monitor supply market dynamics (raw material volatility, geopolitical factors) through yearly risk mitigation plan updates.
  • Run RFQs mainly for the categories of welded parts, machined parts, cables and for specific sourcing initiatives. Coordinate the RFQs for standard commercial parts and other categories such as casting, drive chain etc. with other global and local category owners in RO supply chain team.

Qualifications for the Role:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical or Engineering related
  • With at least 5 years as a purchasing engineer in manufacturing sector and good experience in the categories of welded parts, machined parts
  • Fluent in both oral and written English
  • PC Skills: MS office, SAP
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good negotiation and communication skills.
  • Experience in complex product portfolios
