At ABB, we help industries outrun - leaner and cleaner. Here, progress is an expectation - for you, your team, and the world. As a global market leader, we’ll give you what you need to make it happen. It won’t always be easy, growing takes grit. But at ABB, you’ll never run alone. Run what runs the world.

This role sits within ABB's Robotics business, a leading global robotics company. We're entering an exciting new chapter as we’ve announced the plan for Soft Bank Group to acquire ABB Robotics. Soft Bank is a globally recognized technology group and investor/operator focused on AI, robotics, and next-generation computing. By joining us now, you’ll be part of a pioneering team shaping the future of robotics—working alongside world-class experts in a fast-moving, innovation-driven environment.

This Position reports to:

Global Head of People Operations:

Your role and responsibilities:
As the global custodian of the Hire-to-Retire (H2R)lifecycle, you are responsible for the "blueprint" of the employee experience at ABB Robotics. You will lead our transition into a standalone Soft Bank-backed entity by designing a high-performance Target Operating Model (TOM)and serving as the final authority on global HR processes. You will ensure that whether we are hiring in Tokyo, Berlin, or San Jose—or integrating a newly acquired AI startup—the process is lean, digital-first, and scalable.
The work model for the role is: hybrid

  • Global Process Owner (Hire-to-Retire): Act as the design authority for the end-to-end H2R lifecycle (Recruitment, Onboarding, Core HCM, Performance, Rewards, and Off-boarding), ensuring globally standardized processes while maintaining compliance with local labor laws.

  • Process Optimization: Partner with COEs (Total Rewards, Talent, L&D) to re-engineer and automate H2R processes, eliminating regional “shadow processes” and shifting HR operations from administrative to automated.

  • Target Operating Model (TOM): Define and implement the HR operating model, clarifying interactions between Global COEs, People Operations & Payroll, and HR Business Partners, while supporting future business growth.

  • Service Delivery Transformation: Optimize the tiered HR service delivery model, moving high-volume transactional work away from HRBPs so they can focus on strategic talent initiatives.

  • HR M&A Integration: Lead the HR M&A lifecycle from due diligence through post-merger integration, creating a scalable “plug-and-play” model to quickly integrate acquired companies into global H2R processes and systems.

  • HR Digital Ecosystem: Guide the functional configuration and integration of HR platforms (Workday, Service Now, Cornerstone, Phenom), ensuring scalable architecture, data integrity, and real-time workforce analytics for HR leadership.

Qualifications for the role:

  • 10+ years of experience. Must have held a Global Process Owner (GPO) or HR Operations Lead role in a complex, multi-national environment.

  • Deep expertise in Lean Six Sigma or Design Thinking applied to HR services. You view HR through the lens of "Product Management."

  • Deep functional knowledge of the Workday/Service Now ecosystem. You understand how process design dictates system configuration, not the other way around.

  • Direct experience leading HR integrations during a corporate carve-out or high-velocity M&A cycle (Private Equity experience preferred).

  • Ability to challenge "the way we’ve always done it" at the executive level and drive change across diverse geographic regions.
